10.22.09 is the date of the first showing of Silence Is Sound.  It’s been a long time in the making for Director Matt Reyes and RusticRen Media.  A lot blood, sweat, and tears have been poured in to this unique film that speaks for all of us living with a dream.   This is a documentary about the trials and tribulations of being an independent artist and showcases music, interviews and stories from Bay Root Productions, Element, Dorm Room Muzik, and more.

The films director (Matt Reyes), along with the film itself, is already generating a buzz in Reno.  Recently, he appeared on front page of The Echo talking about filmmaking and the Silence Is Sound project.  Not only did Matt Reyes spend most of his childhood growing up in Reno, but a majority of the artists featured in this film hail from Nevada so it only made sense to kick off the entire project from the biggest little city on Earth.

For the first time, it will be shown at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno NV on Oct. 22nd 2009.  After the showing, there will be an after party at Seven Teahouse, a small meet and greet with the cast and crew.

Now we know not everyone is going to be able to make it out there but if you’re in the area, we strongly suggest you come through and watch the film with us.  Addresses and times are at the bottom of this post.  For those who won’t be able to make it, we hope the film will be in distribution soon but there are many plans in development for this documentary and we know RusticRen is taking their time to do it right.

It’s most likely that this film will see as many festivals as possible before we see any online distribution or DVD sales, we suggest following the director on Twitter for up to date information, @ReyRonin cause anything could change.
